FAQ

The Rev. Jerry FAQ Sheet

  1. Will you perform commitment ceremonies?
  2. Yes, I will bond any two people who hold love in their heart and desire to be life partners. Though most local and federal governments have made same-sex marriage illegal, a commitment ceremony has the same spiritual bond as a traditional marriage. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. -- Matthew 19:6

  1. Can we use our own vows?
  2. Of course, traditional vows, personalized vows, it’s your decision. Rev. Jerry can even help you write your vows if you like. This is your wedding so express your love as you see fit.

  1. Will you preside at unusual locations or non-traditional weddings, say at the lake, on a mountain, at a nude beach, at Pizza Hut, at midnight?
  2. I will consider most any location or style of wedding as long as it conforms with local and state zoning laws, and there is written permission from the property owner or location. Just email me at reverendjerry@woh.rr.com with your ideas and I will let you know if I would be available for what you desire.  Additional fees may be charged  in certain circumstances.

  1. How far are you willing to travel in Ohio?
  2. I will travel most anywhere in the state but anything outside of a sixty (30) mile radius of my home base, Lima, Ohio, will require an additional charge of $.50 a mile and cover any additional expenses if overnight accommodations are necessary.

  1. What are your fees?
  2. I have a flat rate of $150 for a wedding, commitment ceremony or wedding vow renewal.  If there is a rehearsal there is an additional $75 fee. If you are more than sixty (30) miles outside of my home base of Lima, Ohio, then an additional $.50 per mile will be added to the fee.   Unusual requests, locations, short notice, holidays or anything outside of the ordinary may require additional nominal fees.  Be sure to email Rev. Jerry at  reverendjerry@woh.rr.com with your specific needs and a ceremony quote will be provided to you.

  1. Is there a contract? How much advance notice do you need? Is there a deposit?
  2. Yes, there is a contract that will need to be signed by the prospective marriage participants and Rev. Jerry securing the date and appearance of Rev. Jerry.  Two week notice is the preferred minimum for Rev. Jerry to book a wedding or commitment ceremony but other arrangements may be considered by contacting reverendjerry@woh.rr.com. There is a $50 non-refundable booking fee that is required at the time of booking a specified date and the contract signed.  As stated, if you cancel your wedding,  this fee is not returned.  For a change of event date, a small additional fee will be incurred if the date can be accommodated.
        Q.  Do you require any pre-marital counseling in order to perform our ceremony?
        R.  No, there are no counseling sessions required.

        Q.  How can I check that Rev. Jerry is licensed by the State of Ohio to officiate marriages?
